Our admissions process is designed to match students with the academic and social setting that best fits their needs within our school. We work very hard to ensure that your child is placed in an environment in which he/she will be successful. The purpose of our intake process is to get to know your child and to determine the best pathway for them.
For our school program, we encourage families to check out our website and ensure that our school is the best fit for your child. We do have a $50 application fee which will allow us to process your application, review information about your child, and determine assessments to utilize for your child.
Once we receive the intake packet and the application fee, and if we have space available, we will then schedule an educational assessment with your child. The fee for this assessment is $150 and will include a 1:1 30-minute session to identify current educational needs, a review of data, and a meeting with family to discuss concerns/goals and appropriate placement.
Upward Trend Academy will then review all data and information provided to determine eligibility and proper placement in our school program. Please note - our educational assessments are not norm-referred tests and are not designed for outside services or grade specific knowledge.
We want every child to be successful in an environment that will ensure growth and progress. If we do not have the capacity to provide quality services at the level needed for your child to effectively reduce occurrence of behaviors and ensure growth, then we will be transparent about that. However, we will always offer additional options outside of our school and we would love to help you prepare your child for success. Services may include ABA therapy, tutoring, educational consultation, etc.
An educational assessment is simply a time for us to get to know you and your child. We want to see how your child interacts with adults, the environment, and stimuli in the environment. We want to see what skills are currently in your child's repertoire and identify any areas of weakness. The purpose is to ensure we can provide the best environment for your child to make growth.
