Sometimes students fall behind and need something more. We are registered as a K-12 private school to help students catch up and get ahead. We will strive to help students get to a point where they can return to a regular school setting, but for those that may not be able to will benefit from our high school life skills class.
We are currently in the process of working to be able to accept McKay and anticipate this being complete by the August 2nd due date. For more information, apply here: http://www.fldoe.org/schools/school-choice/k-12-scholarship-programs/mckay/
Our school hours will be 8:15-2:15. We will offer an aftercare program from 2:15-5:00. Please note-- aftercare will be an additional charge and will not be covered by scholorships.
We follow the Volusia County School calendar. We know many of our families will have siblings in public school and we want to make sure families can plan events and other activities together.
The Early Intervention program is for children with a diagnosis under 6 years of age. Children will receive 1:1 medical based Applied Behavior Analysis services that are generally funded through the child’s insurance. Functional Behavior Assessments and other behavior analytic assessments will be conducted to identify the milestones your child needs to work towards. An individual behavior-based plan will be designed for the student and the student will spend their day
receiving therapy and working on social interactions with peers in a typical preschool environment to help students transition to a regular setting quicker.
For students with significant cognitive and functional delays. Their IQs are below low average. Students on this path receive instruction on language, pre-academic and functional daily living skills which are pre-requisites to higher concepts. They engage in a full day of developmental skills targeted for each individual and as they reach beginning developmental milestones they transition into academic foundations.
This path is for students that have a learning disability, language disorder, ADHD, etc. Their IQs are average to well above average, but they perform behind their peers. Students on this path engage in a full day of foundational academic related skills such as reading, writing, math, reasoning, and problem solving. With the goal of catching up and returning to a general education classroom in the public school system.
This path is for students who are between the two above mentioned pathways. These students are ready for the next step, but would still benefit from a smaller ratio. These students have mastered basic school skills and are ready to focus heavily on academics in a flexible environment.
