image538

Summary of Process

  • Call us to schedule tour/pick up intake packet.
  • Send back intake packet with $50 application fee.
  • We will contact you within 7 days of receiving both fee and intake packet to schedule an educational assessment.
  • After educational assessment is completed, we will contact you with one week to discuss your child's acceptance/placement.

Our admissions process is designed to match students with the perfect academic and social setting that best fits their needs. We work very hard to ensure that your child is placed in an environment that he/she will be successful. The purpose of our intake process is to get to know your child and to determine the best pathway for them.

For our school program, we encourage families to check out our website and ensure that our school is the best fit for you child. Next, contact us via email or phone to schedule a tour to see our facility and to receive an intake packet. We do have a $50 application fee which will allow us to process your application, review information about your child, and determine placement for your child.

Once we receive the intake packet and the application fee, if applicable we will then schedule an educational assessment with your child. The fee for this assessment is $150 and will include a 1:1 30-minute session to identify current educational needs, a review of data, and a meeting with family to discuss concerns/goals and appropriate placement.

Upward Trend Academy will then review all data and information provided to determine eligibility and proper placement. Please allot at least 1 week for us to notify you on acceptance.

We want every child to be successful and in an environment that will ensure growth and progress. If we do not have the capacity to provide quality services at the level needed for your child to effectively reduce occurrence of behaviors and ensure growth-- then we will be transparent about that. However, we will always offer additional pathway options outside of our school that we would love to help you prepare your child for school success. Services may include, ABA therapy, tutoring, educational consultation, etc.

What is the "educational assessment?"

An educational assessment is simply a time for us to get to know you and your child. We want to see how your child interacts with adults, the environment, and stimuli in the environment. We want to see what skills are currently in your child's repertoire and identify weak areas. The purpose is to ensure we can provide the best environment for your child to make growth.

Early intervention services are generally funded by insurance companies. Therefore, the process looks a bit different than our school program. Our insurance biller will call your insurance to get a pre-authorization for an assessment. Once we get pre-authroization, we will contact you to schedule the assessment in our ABA clinic.
